Overly sweet drinks, that contain sugar
You already knew that eating and drinking a lot of sugary foods is not healthy for you and can lead to weight gain. However, when it comes to drinks, you are also adding the risk factor of getting diabetes 2.
This doesn’t mean that you suddenly have to avoid sugary drinks like the plague or that you should no longer add a little bit of sweetener to your tea or coffee, but rather that you should limit the number of sugary drinks you eat. This means you should not have more than one soda, fruit drink, lemonade, or sweet tea per day if you drink them regularly, especially if they contain sugar.
The American Diabetes Association warns that people who drink an average of two drinks that are sweetened by sucrose increase their risks by around 26% when compared with people who do not. The best and healthiest choice is to drink water and unsweetened teas, as they have the best health benefits for your body!
