If you are into the Mediterranean diet, then you have already started to introduce healthy omega-3 fatty acids into your diet, but we come bearing even more good news! They are also really good when it comes to combating acne flare-ups and other acne-related skin issues.
Of course, the best source of these fatty acids is salmon, but don’t sleep on other types of fish as well. Anchovies, sardines, and mackerel are also some tasty alternatives to salmon when it comes to getting omega-3 into your diet.
Why is it so important? Omega-3 is known to help your skin protect against sun damage (and thus other acne-induced problems) as well as reduce the risk of developing brown spots from too much sun exposure and even skin cancer! What’s more, if you add salmon to your diet, you will also be getting a healthy dose of potassium, selenium, proteins, antioxidants, and a number of B vitamins!
Salmon is a great way to take care of your overall health while also combating acne, whether you pan-fry it, steam it, or bake it!
