Employees come in to teach us about how we can determine if a fast food restaurant is clean or not. After all, while it may appear that way on the surface, they know how to spot places that don’t care about keeping the place clean! However, this trick works only if they have dispensers for ice and soda.

When you get your drink or refill, you can easily bend down a little and look up the ice chute; a quick look will be all you need to spot a bad joint. There could be mold and other icky stuff growing there, which means bacteria in your drink. This shows they are not cleaning up the machine as often as they should, and it brings up questions about what else they aren’t cleaning well because you cannot see it easily!
