What is a Healthy Cancer-Fighting Breakfast?
If you don’t like breakfast, we get it. Knowing that you don’t have to eat breakfast exclusively in the morning should be a relief. Let’s think outside the cereal box. Who said you can’t have a sandwich or soup? Or leftovers?
A healthy breakfast should consist of 3-4 different food groups. But since most people don’t like vegetables at breakfast, fruit is a must! Most dieticians would prefer that people eat their fruit rather than drink it.
But 3/4 of a cup of 100% fruit juice can be an excellent backup plan when you’re in a hurry.
Some examples of what a cancer-fighting breakfast might look like:
- A cup of cereal with low-fat milk and 1/2 a grapefruit
- Low-fat granola with yogurt and berries
- An egg, a whole wheat English muffin, and strawberries
- Fruit smoothie (milk, yogurt, frozen fruit, and a splash of juice)
If you’re in a rush, here are some things you can grab to eat on your way:
- Granola bar and banana
- Crackers, 1 oz. Low-fat cheese and a 100% juice box
- String cheese and a banana
- Apple and peanut butter
