Best Fermented Foods

With the big craze around fermented foods and, more specifically, a few types of dishes and drinks, it is unlikely that you haven’t been aware of the fact that everyone sings their praises. Dishes like Korean kimchi (which is a type of spicy, pickled cabbage), sauerkraut, miso, and tempeh, as well as drinks like Kombucha, have become more and more popular as time goes by, and we cannot help but wonder why.

The answer lies in the fact that they are extremely beneficial for our gut and intestine health. Fermented foods are rich in probiotics, which are known to have a positive impact on human gut health. Thus, not only is your immune system protected, but it is also balanced. They will aid the production of good bacteria in your stomach, and like that, you can naturally ward off various diseases and other harmful pathogens.

What’s more, you can easily incorporate them into your diet once you get used to the stronger smell and taste. Foods like kimchi can be added to stews and other combinations where the spicy, fermented taste will not alter the taste but actually boost the flavors. Other times, you can just make miso soup (or eat it out) or other dishes that contain miso that you can slowly add in.

Of course, for those of you who are already familiar with the taste, you can eat them as sides to other heavy or fatty dishes or even add drinking a glass of kombucha to your morning routine!
