Soft Cheeses
A cheese plate with some wine is a ritual many people rely on when they have visitors. After all, it’s easy to put together, it tastes delicious, and your guests will be impressed by the effort.
But sadly, our favorite kinds of cheese, the softer types like Brie and goat cheese, don’t have a long shelf life. Depending on the variety, you’ll be good to go for about a week or two. Check the expiration dates in your cheese drawer.
If it’s full of half-finished pieces and opened containers of soft cheese, you should do an inventory check and throw away any that have been around for more than a couple of weeks.
