Expired Condiments
If you’re like us, you probably have an entire collection of condiments. Some of us have at least two, if not three, varieties of the same sauce or dressing.
But the downside of having so many condiments is that it ultimately leads to them expiring or going bad before we can consume all of them. We recommend going through your fridge to see which of them are still good and which need to be tossed in the trash.
The USDA has made a list of how long some condiments will last in your fridge:
- Ketchup: 6 months
- Mayonnaise: 2 months
- Salad dressing: 2 months
- Horseradish: 3 to 4 months
- Chili sauce: 6 months
- Cocktail: 6 months
- Chutney: 1 to 2 months
- Mustard: 12 months
- Pickles: 1 to 3 months
- Olives: 2 weeks
If you’re not sure, do a sniff and sight test. If it has separated or there’s visible mold, throw it out. If it still looks good but has a weird smell, chuck it.
