Potatoes
Potato starch becomes sugar when it is cold. As a result, the texture is gritty, and the flavor is somewhat sweet. Potatoes perform best at 7°C (the typical refrigerator is set between 1°C and 3°C). They should be kept in the cold pantry in a paper bag. Chlorophyll builds up in the presence of sunlight, rendering potatoes green and occasionally bitter.

Sliced bread
While you may think that putting the bread in the fridge is great to keep it safe from mold, the process might dry out the loaf. Whole watermelon
The first impulse after you buy a big watermelon is to store it in the fridge. But is this really a good idea? Well, no. While we might enjoy it cold, this fruit is best preserved at room temperature, at least until it’s time to cut it up. After you slice it, put it on a large plate and place it carefully in the fridge. If it’s possible, wrap each slice with plastic foil and consume it within 3 days or less.
