Hot Chilli
While dropping a handful of chillis into your slow cooker might sound like an easy way to add more flavor to your dish, the idea could backfire on you.
This added spice should be used cautiously because the seeds tend to disperse over your entire pot in the slow cooking process. Since it’s pretty much impossible to remove excess heat, make sure you know about how hot certain chili peppers are.
It’s better to go on the lighter side if the recipe calls for them and add more at the end of the cooking period if you still want it more spicy when taste testing.
Too Much Spice
While we’re on the subject, this can go for all spices in general. You’ll regret it if you put too much in your slow cooker! Sprinkling spices at the beginning of your cooking could be a better idea. Instead, stir them in when they only have ave a few minutes left of cooking time.

Thanx u for interesting information.
Wow! I’ve been using dry pinto beans or great northern beans without soaking in my slow cooker for years…sometimes I put a frozen smoked pork hock in before starting it on high…comes out great every time…no worries here (~.~)
