Frozen Meat
The US Department of Agriculture warns against putting frozen meat in a slow cooker. They’ve stated that if you set frozen meat or poultry in a crock pot, it spends too much time thawing out, allowing bacteria to multiply and ultimately making you sick.
Defrosted food will also guarantee that your meal evenly cooks all the way through, they note.
Beans
Since you should allow beans to soak overnight before cooking, a slow cooker might sound like an obvious solution. The only problem with that is that some beans, including kidney, contain a natural toxin customarily wiped out by boiling.
Slow cookers rarely reach the 212-degree temperature necessary to destroy that toxin. Instead, you should soak, rinse, and cook the beans for about 10 minutes before you put them in a slow cooker.

Thanx u for interesting information.
Wow! I’ve been using dry pinto beans or great northern beans without soaking in my slow cooker for years…sometimes I put a frozen smoked pork hock in before starting it on high…comes out great every time…no worries here (~.~)
