#2 Vinaigrettes, not dressings!

Dieticians and nutritionists alike recommend that you steer away from prepackaged dressings, especially the creamy ones you can get from fast food joints. Not only are they going to be packed with fat and have a high caloric count, but they’re also full of preservatives and salt. It is way better to go with a vinaigrette instead of a traditional dressing, and experts also recommend that you use only half of the packet instead of a full one.

Let’s take McDonald’s as an example! If you go with the traditional Renée’s Mighty Caesar Dressing for your salad, that little dressing pack is going to add 260 calories and 29 grams of fat to your whole meal! These dressings are why some of the salads in fast food places are counted as the most unhealthy choices, not because there is something wrong with the salad in question.

If you are going to eat one of those salads, choose Renée’s Ravin’ Raspberry Vinaigrette. It is flavorful, and it will only have 60 calories and a fraction of the fat, at only 3.5 grams!
