#1 Most muffins are just cake!

Let’s be honest, when it comes to muffins, most of them are made with cake batter, and they are not that different from the cake when it comes to how healthy they are. This is because we are talking to the ones we find in the cafe section of fast food joints! Take a whole-grain raspberry muffin, for example! One would think that it would be really healthy, especially since it has whole grains in the name and should be healthier than one made with plain flour. Unfortunately, that is not the case!

This type of muffin can end up having up to 400 calories and about 17 grams of fat! Which is definitely a lot for a muffin. And when you add it as dessert to a meal at one of these fast food places, you end up having a high caloric intake.

An alternative for places like these is to look for yogurt snacks like Strawberry Yogurt and Berries from the refrigerated section. These ones would only have 140 calories, and they are healthier overall because there is a balance between the carbohydrates, fat, and protein you will be eating. This is in addition to keeping you satiated for longer and being packed with nutrients from the yogurt.
