8. Tomatoes
Even if tomatoes are fruits, they are often eaten as vegetables. Because they are rich in antioxidants, especially lycopene (which is a highly potent antioxidant) and they have a host of health advantages, including a decreased risk of cancer and heart disease, tomatoes are highly recommended by most doctors.
A typical-sized tomato has 1.5 grams of fiber, making tomatoes a healthy source of this nutrient. Furthermore, tomatoes are high in vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, and potassium, which are four of the most important vitamins for a healthy body. You can consume them either in raw form, mixed with other vegetables in salads, or cooked.
Did you know that ketchup and tomato sauces are the best dietary sources of lycopene? However, keep in mind that you shouldn’t consume ketchup in large quantities because most of it contains added sugar. Thus, increasing your lycopene intake by eating raw tomatoes may be simpler.
