1. Fruit smoothies
You probably already guessed that one of the best foods for hypertension is fruit smoothies! They are super tasty, easy to include in your diet, and above everything else, they help lower your blood pressure.
If your doctor recommends eating more fruits and vegetables throughout the day so you don’t feel like snacking after the three main meals of the day, jumpstart the first meal with a bowl of fruit smoothie. Choose 2 or 3 (but not more than 3) fruits per smoothie and one favorite vegetable.
Nutritionists recommend celery, avocados, and even beetroot for freshness and taste. If you are also trying to lose weight, opt for low-fat milk or water. Smoothies aren’t filling enough for you? No worries! You can always combine them with whole nuts, oats, or chia seeds.
