Colon Cancer: 5 Foods That Increase Your Risk of Developing It

#3 Sugary drinks

You have probably thought about this one already. After all, there are a lot of sugary drinks out there, and even the ones that are advertised as not having as much sugar as others or as natural still contain a lot of sugar, so you have to be careful and read the labels of the drinks you choose to consume.

Sometimes, it can even be easier to get a sugary drink than to get a bottle of water, but this should not deter you from actually trying to get the healthier option. Many studies have shown a link between sugar and becoming overweight, and the same links can also show how high your risk of developing colon cancer is.

The bottom line here is the fact that sugary drinks contain a ton of sugar, which can lead to your body getting into a constant state of inflammation, even developing chronic inflammation. Inflammation is one of the causes of a ton of different diseases, and it also leads to various sensitivities, including colon cancer.

The best thing for your health, whether you care about colon cancer or not, is to make sure that you are limiting your intake of sugary drinks. Alternatives are plain water, looking for low-calorie, low-sugar ones, or even freshly pressed juices!

This also goes hand in hand with adding too much sugar to your tea or coffee. Consider reducing your sugar intake, and if you still want that sweet taste, replace sugar with stevia!
