Mashed potatoes
They do take a while to make, but in the end, it is worth it. After all, you can boil them in an Instant Pot if you do not like to wait for them to boil, and by doing this, you will also ensure they will not get gluey. But let’s be honest, it is still not that hard even without such a pot, and as long as you are careful and have a trusty potato masher (unless you would rather use a potato ricer), it is super easy to get the best-mashed potatoes out there.
Yet, there are still premade packages of the mashed tatters, and while we can see how it could be good if you are in a pinch or you have a ton of guests, is it worth the risk? You cannot know how they were made, and you can run into a number of problems when you end up heating them up. Believe us: lumpy, weird-tasting mashed potatoes with some additives and god knows how much salt is not the way to go.
Do the healthier version and make them yourself. A little labor of love and you will be able to eat the best side dish out there in about half an hour (most of which is boiling the potatoes!). No need for the premade stuff.
Don’t forget to get yourself a trusted potato masher for the best side dish ever!
