It helps regulate blood sugar
The resistant starch that’s found in green bananas works similarly to fiber. Apparently, it not only slows down the digestion of carbs but also prevents blood sugar spikes.
Besides, resistant starch could help your gut bacteria, which later improves insulin function and helps people with diabetes manage their blood sugar, as a 2022 publication in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences explained. Also, bananas rank rather low on the GI scale: ripe bananas are 51, while greener ones can score as low as 42.
It boosts your heart health
As for diabetes, taking good care of your own heart is essential. The National Institutes of Health showed that people who suffer from diabetes are way more likely to develop a heart issue and suffer from all the risk factors that could lead to a heart attack or a stroke, including high blood pressure and higher cholesterol.
Luckily, the vitamins and minerals that are found in bananas also have all kinds of heart-protective properties. For instance, bananas are a great source of potassium, which is an essential nutrient if you want your heart to function accordingly.
Also, adjusting your potassium intake could reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure. Bananas are also rich in magnesium, which is oftentimes correlated with lower blood pressure, but also with a reduced risk of heart disease and stroke. In fact, one medium banana has 422 milligrams of potassium, and 32 mg of magnesium.

I AM A DIABETIC, I EAT BANANAS FREQUENTLY. THIS WONDERFUL FRUIT WAS CREATED BY THE LORD GOD HIMSELF FOR OUR ENJOYMENT AND CONSUMPTION. THEREFORE I TAKE EVERYTHING IN STRIDE AND LEAN ON THE IMPRESSIONS I FEEL IN MY SPIRIT. FOR ME, CONTRARY TO WHAT “NEW” SCIENCE SAYS, I WILL HARDLY CONTINUE TO EAT GOOD FRESH BANANAS WITH FULL CONFIDENCE THAT THEY DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE MY WELL-BEING. THANK YOU.

I was told that bananas are not good for me because I’m a diabetic, but I need to eat them or the potassium in them. I have bone narrowing problems and bananas helps with that. so, I have my cake and eat it too.
