Even so, it’s worth noting that the same banana also has 3 grams of fiber, which is known to be a powerhouse nutrient not only essential to proper digestion but with numerous health benefits.
And since we’re talking about diabetes, we have to mention that fiber blunts blood sugar spikes. What it does is basically enhance your body’s capacity for regulating blood sugar by slowing down digestion and the absorption of carbs. And considering all these things, eating bananas as a diabetic shouldn’t be an issue.
The carbs that are found in bananas are later broken down into glucose, which gets into the bloodstream and later heads to cells for more energy. Eating a banana might cause your blood sugar to increase, but it solely depends on how much you eat, what you eat along with it, and the level of ripeness. A riper banana might have more sugar, while a green banana will have way less sugar but more resistant starch. Either way, it won’t affect your blood sugar.

I AM A DIABETIC, I EAT BANANAS FREQUENTLY. THIS WONDERFUL FRUIT WAS CREATED BY THE LORD GOD HIMSELF FOR OUR ENJOYMENT AND CONSUMPTION. THEREFORE I TAKE EVERYTHING IN STRIDE AND LEAN ON THE IMPRESSIONS I FEEL IN MY SPIRIT. FOR ME, CONTRARY TO WHAT “NEW” SCIENCE SAYS, I WILL HARDLY CONTINUE TO EAT GOOD FRESH BANANAS WITH FULL CONFIDENCE THAT THEY DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE MY WELL-BEING. THANK YOU.

I am diabetic. I will continue to eat bananas also.
I was told that bananas are not good for me because I’m a diabetic, but I need to eat them or the potassium in them. I have bone narrowing problems and bananas helps with that. so, I have my cake and eat it too.
