As people with diabetes are used to moderating their carb intake, this doesn’t mean that they avoid all kinds of healthy carbs. Eating healthy carbs is particularly important for those with diabetes, especially if they’re talking about blood sugar-lowering medications.
Bananas are a wonderful source of fiber, vitamin C, potassium, vitamin B6, and manganese. Also, bananas are a wonderful source of energy, so eating one might bring a ton of health benefits, even if you’re diabetic.
What about insulin sensitivity?
It is known that green or unripe bananas have less sugar and a more resistant version of starch than ripe bananas. In fact, there’s a 2019 review that showed how resistant starch is nothing but a carbohydrate that simply cannot be digested in the small intestine, but it has various health benefits.
First, it improves digestion, reduces cholesterol, and also improves gut health. Also, it is highly beneficial for insulin sensitivity, especially for those who suffer from metabolic syndromes, such as diabetes.

I am diabetic. I will continue to eat bananas also.
I was told that bananas are not good for me because I’m a diabetic, but I need to eat them or the potassium in them. I have bone narrowing problems and bananas helps with that. so, I have my cake and eat it too.
