Steamed milk
We know we had milk on the list already, but this one is not necessarily about the food item itself. While chefs warn about certain milk drinks because of how the milk was stored, baristas warn people about the way in which milk is prepared for milky drinks, more especially about the item in which it is steamed.
They warn about coffee shops where you can clearly tell that the staff did not bother to rinse out the milk pitcher after they had prepared a drink with steamed milk. And while this does not count when it comes to them having to make more orders one after another so they steam enough milk for more drinks at the same time, when they just reuse the pitcher, it can get pretty gross.
This can also mean that there will be crusty or curdled milk inside the steam wand (meaning the milk that has cooked because of the steam and residues) and they don’t pay enough attention to clean them properly. It can also be why your coffee from that specific place probably has a funky taste!

This is horrible. Shame on the chefs. Is the artical saying they are not professional. We,, the customers, can’t rely on them to do their job properly and safely. And if the chefs know about other issues taking place by the staff why do they let it continue. Who has control in the kitchen? Apparently no one! Don’t drink the water and don’t use the fork. Maybe we all should keep out. And I’m not saying McDonald’s!
