Anything that isn’t a specialty

This may sound elitist, especially coming from a chef, but sometimes it is a very good rule to follow. Do not think that we only say you should get meat from steakhouses or something like that, but rather stick to the specifics of the restaurants.

Chefs avoid getting certain dishes that don’t seem to be in the expertise of the kitchen. So things like, when you are at a steakhouse, do not get the pasta, because that’s not where their experience lies. Or at the burger joint, get the burger, not the pizza! Some restaurants diversify their menus just so that they have more options, but those options may not be your best bet, especially when it is clear they don’t make that dish often.

  1. This is horrible. Shame on the chefs. Is the artical saying they are not professional. We,, the customers, can’t rely on them to do their job properly and safely. And if the chefs know about other issues taking place by the staff why do they let it continue. Who has control in the kitchen? Apparently no one! Don’t drink the water and don’t use the fork. Maybe we all should keep out. And I’m not saying McDonald’s!
