12 Classic Breakfast Foods You Should AVOID at All Costs

Biscuits and gravy

Biscuits and gravy are indeed the old-school versions of any Southern breakfast in the United States, and they’re best served for special occasions. Biscuits have a high amount of fat, and they’re usually made with refined white flour.

Besides, the gravy is made with salty and high-fat ingredients, such as oil and butter. I know that after such a meal, you will tend to believe that you’re full, but the effects won’t last for long, and it’s not the healthiest option out there. On top of that, the high-fat content could lead to digestive upset.

Premade smoothies

Premade smoothies are FILLED with sugar, and no, they’re not really that fresh. Most premade smoothies you’re going to find in supermarket stores are made from powders and mixes. Unfortunately, smoothies are very low in protein, so you shouldn’t count on them for too long. If there’s nothing else to “eat” something in the morning than a smoothie, at least add some extra protein powder.

  1. You obviously know nothing about gravy. There is neither oil nor butter in gravy. It is made from grease left over from frying bacon or sausage, flour, and milk, with some salt and pepper.
