Trader Joe’s pulls in a massive number of customers with its frozen food section, but the chain store’s loyalists need to be a bit more wary after the grocer just recalled one of its major products. Earlier this March, the company announced that it’s recalling “Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings” with a lot of code of C1-1 or C1-2 and the best date of March 7, 2025.

According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service, there are about 62,000 pounds of the product, which are sold in 6 oz. boxes, that are being pulled off the market. The reason for the recall is that there’s potential contamination by foreign materials in the dumpling packages. More specifically, hard plastic.

Experts said that Trader Joe’s has been dealing with customer complaints about hard plastic, but there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or injuries from the soup dumplings yet. They also warned people who bought the product to throw them away or return them to the store, and Trader Joe’s said it would offer a full refund for the product if returned.
