7. Cauliflower and apples, kiwis, and onions

Cauliflower is one of those foods you should never store together with fruits. Cauliflower should not be kept in the same box as kiwis, melons, apples, or onions because of its high ethylene sensitivity.

It must have airflow to remain fresh, so if it’s in a punctured plastic bag, feel free to keep it whole. Make sure the top is open if your cauliflower is in a plastic or biodegradable produce bag so it can breathe.

It stays best on a shelf or in a refrigerator drawer with other veggies. The same applies to cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and other ethylene-sensitive vegetables.

If all these fresh foods you should never store together in the same place, let’s take a look at some that you should keep away from the fridge as much as possible! Click on the next page to see the list.
