Bad sleep apnea foods: Fatty Red Meat

Yes, unfortunately, fatty red meat is not going to help with your sleep apnea, and it may actually make everything worse due to the side effects that a diet full of high-fat red meats can cause.

We all enjoy a steak here and there, but if your diet is mainly full of red meats, fatty cuts, and other similar fatty red meat products, you are at risk of increasing your cardiovascular disease chances and also causing increased inflammation in your body!

Since people who are already dealing with sleep apnea have an increased risk of developing cardiovascular problems, having such a high-fat red meat diet can end up accelerating these issues and making you way more likely to develop them.

What’s more, since sleep apnea creates oxidative stress and causes changes on and on in your blood pressure, both of which can lead to cardiovascular issues, it is easy to see how maintaining a diet full of red meat and highly processed red meats would end up increasing your risks of further health complications as well as worse sleep apnea!
